after leaving overwatch near the tail end of 2069, mccree settles into a tireless routine of taking assassination contracts and looking into the more mysterious deaths of overwatch members whilst also staying one jump ahead of the american government. he sustains a life on the run for seven years and is both surprised and wary when winston recalls all former overwatch members in 2076. after all, mccree had resigned from his position in blackwatch prior to the forced disbandment of the organization; technically speaking, he was no longer an agent, active or otherwise.
despite his misgivings, many of which still linger, mccree concedes overwatch is the only force truly capable of dismantling talon and other terrorist organizations, the former having been on his radar for better half of his solo campaign. he accepts a part in the renewed team roster, if somewhat belatedly.
in addition to helping alleviate the crises arising in the world, he is hellbent on bringing reaper to justice.
